Instructions to make Palak dal:
- Soak the toor dal for at least 30 minutes. Then wash it nicely. Next take a pressure cooker put the dal, salt, turmeric and water. Put pressure lid and cook for 3 whistles. Let it cool and release pressure..
- Next take spinach leaves, clean and chop them small. Take a kadhai, heat oil. Splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Add dry red chillies and fresh green chillies. Add a dash of hing. Mix all well..
- Next add the garlic and saute till brownish. Add chopped onion and fry it too till translucent..
- Next add tomato. Put salt as required. Add a pinch of turmeric. Mix. Add coriander powder, cumin powder and mix well.add little water so that these don't burn..
- Next add the chopped spinach leaves and mix. Cook it in open for sometime. Do not overcook..
- Now take the cooked dal and pour into the tadka and stir. Add little water as your preferred consistency..
