  1. Boil water in a pot,add salt, whole garam masala,1 tablespoons oil or butter,and soaked rice..
  2. Cook for 7-8 minutes, remove when the rice is 70% cooked,strain,and set aside to cool..
  3. In another pan fry onion until golden brown, add yogurt,green chilli, fry,add tomatoes, cook for 5 min,then add ginger and garlic paste, spices, chicken, cook for few minutes then add 1.5 cups of water..
  4. Cook until chicken is done and oil appears on surface..
  5. Now layer the rice and the gravy,as rice then gravy and rice again on top,add few drops of rose water or saffron cover with lid.put the pan on a skillet and over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes..
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander and boiled eggs.enjoy!.
