- {Get 3 cups of Basmati Rice.
- {Get 5.5-6 cups of Water.
- {Take of as required Lemon juice from 1 lemon.
- {Prepare of For Cooking Prawns/Chemeen.
- {Get 2 of Onions 2(sliced).
- {Get of as required Paste from 10 garlic cloves, 2 inch ginger, 5 green chillies.
- {Make ready of As per requirement Masala Powder by grinding all ingredients under 2nd section.
- {Prepare of Other Ingredients.
- {Get 6 tbspn of Ghee.
- {Take of as required Coriander leaves chopped.
- {Make ready of As required Mint leaves chopped.
- {Prepare of As required Saffron Milk.
Instructions to make Prawn Biriyani:
- Marinate all ingredients under the marinade section and keep for a minimum of 30 minutes..
- Add 2 tbspn ghee to a hot wok/kadai. Add sliced onions to this, and fry till it's translucent brown..
- Now add, bay leaves, green cardamom, and cinnamon stick to this. When the aroma emanates, add washed rice to this and fry..
- Add 5.5 - 6 cups of water to this. Add salt to taste. Cook the rice for around 30 minutes..
- Now, add 2 tbspn ghee in another wok/kadai. Add marinated prawns to the wok and cook for 5 minutes..
- Remove it from the wok. Add 1 tbspn ghee to the wok. Add slices from 2 onions to this. Mix ginger garlic and green chilli paste to this..
- Add the special biriyani masala powder to this. Mix well, and add the cooked prawns to this. Add salt to taste, and cook for 5 more minutes..
- Now, layer some of these cooked prawns in a flat bottomed vessel. Layer it with cooked rice..
- Garnish with chopped coriander and mint leaves. Spread ghee and saffron milk to this. Repeat the layering process..
- Once done, cook it on low flame for 10 minutes. Once done, the biriyani is ready to be served..
